AnEco And Cat Hai Island District Take Action To Say No To Single-use Plastics

On June 16, 2020, AnEco leaders, the People’s Committee of Cat Hai island district and local departments had a meeting to discuss on comprehensive solutions to the problem of plastic wastes. Within the framework, AnEco also conducted a survey and talked to small businesses in Cat Ba market about their requirements and needs.

Cat Hai is popularly known as the island district of Hai Phong city, where there are many famous tourist destinations such as Cannon Fort, Cat Ba Island, Thien Long Cave, Lan Ha Bay, which every year welcomes thousands of visitors. For that reason, plastic pollution has become the main concern for the authorities and local people. 

Under the directions of the Prime Minister, the People’s Committee, Cat Hai district’s People’s Committee has built a feasible roadmap to reduce plastic waste successfully. 

During the meeting, Cat Hai district’s People’s Committee and AnEco discussed how the communication channel can change people’s perceptions about plastic pollution together with the capacity of AnEco’s compostable product to replace disposable plastic.

AnEco’s representative and the Management of Cat Ba market surveyed and hold a discussion with small businesses here. 

By July 15, 2020, compostable plastic bags will gradually replace single-use plastic bags throughout the district.
